Connecting QuickBooks Online to the Dusk FSM

**What can you do with QuickBooks Online and the Dusk FSM?**

The Dusk FSM and QuickBooks Online has a powerful integration offering a number of benefits. These include:

- QuickBooks Online Customer to Dusk FSM Client Synchronisation
- QuickBooks Online Suppliers to Dusk FSM Suppplier Synchronisation
- QuickBooks Online Products to Dusk FSM Materials Synchronisation
- Send Invoices from the Dusk FSM to QuickBooks Online including selecting GL codes
- Send Purchase Orders from the Dusk FSM to QuickBooks Online including selecting GL codes

The first step after accessing your instance of the Dusk FSM is to:

- Go to **System Settings -> General** and choose New Integration, then select QuickBooks Online.
- Click Connect
- Authorise the Dusk FSM app to communicate with QuickBooks Online and Click OK. There may be a Captcha box just below the bottom of the pop up window.
- Test the connection and a green Success button should show. If this does not work, please check step 3 again.

Then go to **System Settings -> General -> QuickBooks Online**

This screen is divided into the follow sections:

**Clients**
- QuickBooks Online is the source of truth - this tickbox means that if a Client is updated in the Dusk FSM with new details, it will not overwrite the same Customer in QuickBooks online. Leaving it unticked means that QuickBooks Online can be overwritten.
- Autosynchronize new Customer records from QuickBooks Online - As new Customers are added, you may like to auto sync them with the Dusk FSM to perform work for them. This tick box ensures that happens.
- Customer search - Start by typing the first letters of the Customer to sync individual Customers, then press Synchronize or Synchronize All with the button.

**Suppliers**
- QuickBooks Online is the source of truth - this tickbox means that if a Supplier is updated in the Dusk FSM with new details, it will not overwrite the same Supplier in QuickBooks online. Leaving it unticked means that QuickBooks Online can be overwritten.
- Autosynchronize new Supplier records from QuickBooks Online - As new Suppliers are added, you may like to auto sync them with the Dusk FSM to perform work for them. This tick box ensures that happens.
- Supplier search - Start by typing the first letters of the Supplier to sync individual Suppliers, then press Synchronize or Synchronize All with the button.

**Products**
- QuickBooks Online is the source of truth - this tickbox means that if a Material is updated in the Dusk FSM with new details, it will not overwrite the same Product in QuickBooks online. Leaving it unticked means that QuickBooks Online can be overwritten.
- Autosynchronize new Product records from QuickBooks Online - As new Products are added, you may like to auto sync them with the Dusk FSM to work with them. This tick box ensures that happens.
- Product search - Start by typing the first letters of the Product to sync individual Products, then press Synchronize or Synchronize All with the button.
*Please note *- product limitations mean that at least one product must be synced from QuickBooks online.

**QuickBooks Online Account Names Sync**

- Once the connection has been established to your QuickBooks Online profile, you can choose which Account names to sync with the Dusk FSM. Syncing the Account names shows them in a list when creating Quotes, Invoices, Purchase Orders and Requests for Quotations.
- Select the Account Code(s) by clicking the tickbox next to it
- Click Sync Accounts

**Sales Orders - Purchase Orders and Invoices**

These are used within the Work module. As these are created (full instructions in this [guide](https://help.duskmobile.com/topic/Sales-Orders "guide")), they can be sent straight to QuickBooks online for processing. A small green icon will show to illustrate they have been sent and they'll show in Vendors and Invoices respectively, within QuickBooks online.
*Please note *- there are limitations on taxes being applied to PO's and Invoices and this should be checked in QuickBooks online also.
