7. Log Bulk Time Requests

**What does the Log Bulk Request button do in the Dusk FSM?**

The Log Bulk Request button works in a similar way to Log Bulk Time button, in that it is used for many Staff at once. Examples for Bulk Requests include public holidays, training days, meetings, events etc. They are activities that require more than one member of Staff and this functionality is a quick way to request time without asking each member of Staff to submit that request individually or entering that time one by one manually.

Bulk Requests can be used for both **Work** and **Leave** requests types.

**Work** related requests could be meetings and events.
**Leave** related could be company forced leave over a period of time or public holidays.

**How do I setup a time request Type in the Dusk FSM?**

To setup a time request Type, navigate to **Personnel -> Time Sheets -> Settings -> Type**

From here, either click on **+Type** or the eye icon to **Edit** an existing Type.

Enter a name for the Type and then select whether this Type is **Work** or **Leave**.

**How do I log a bulk time request in the Dusk FSM?**

To log a bulk time request in the Dusk FSM, navigate to **Personnel -> Time Sheets -> Requests -> Log Bulk Request.**

Select the Staff members individually for the bulk request or tick Select All. This list only shows Staff that you are able to view based on your Team.

Next choose the Type of Request from your earlier setup and the From Date to the To Date.

Choose the Time Type of Full Day, Half Day or Custom. Custom opens some further options to specify shorter durations. This could be for a 1 hour training workshop for your team as an example.

Enter the time in the format shown such as 1d, 1h, 0.5h along with the Start Time.

Add any notes if required for referencing.

Based on your [**Role**](https://help.duskmobile.com/article/Personnel/5.-Managing-Roles "**Role**") permissions, your screen will either show a Save button only or a Save and Approve button. Save only means your Team Manager will need to Approve the Request and Approve means the Bulk Request is automatically approved. Approved bulk requests show as Green on the right at the end of the bulk request

The difference with Requests over Logging Time, is Requests are designed to be Approved and Rejected. This is shown below with the green and red labels to the right of the screen.
