## 📌 Overview

**Daily Logs** in Dusk FSM allow your field team to summarize their day’s work directly from the **mobile app**. These logs are synced to the **web interface** under **Personnel → Daily Logs**, providing your office team with visibility into:

* Time spent
* Distance traveled
* Additional notes, expenses, and more

Daily Logs support **automatic capture** of job activity and **manual inputs** (based on role permissions), making them ideal for **timesheeting**, **expense claims**, and **payroll exports**.

## 📲 Submitting Daily Logs via Mobile App

At the end of the workday:

1. Field staff complete all assigned jobs
2. The app prompts them to submit a **Daily Log**
3. Based on their role, users can enter:

* 🧾 **Expenses**
   * 🚗 **Additional Distance (KM or Miles)**
   * 📝 **General Comments**
4. Tap **Submit** to send the Daily Log to the web portal

📍 This step marks the job day as complete and logs the timestamps.

## 🗂️ What’s Captured in a Daily Log?

| Field                     | Description                                                       |

| **🧾 Job List**           | Displays job headers and time to complete, in chronological order |
| **🗺️ Map**               | Shows job locations and route for the day                         |
| **👤 Assigned To**        | Name of the mobile user who submitted the log                     |
| **🕒 Log Posted On**      | Date and time the log was submitted                               |
| **⏱️ Time Started**       | Timestamp of the **first job's** "Acknowledged" stage             |
| **🏁 Time Finished**      | Timestamp of the **last job's** "Submit" action                   |
| **🧮 Total Time**         | Sum of job and travel time                                        |
| **📏 Total Distance**     | Distance between jobs (calculated using job address coordinates)  |
| **➕ Additional Distance** | Manually entered distance beyond scheduled jobs (e.g., errands)   |
| **💰 Total Expense**      | Claimed expenses incurred during the day                          |
| **📝 General Comments**   | Notes about the day, issues, or unusual events                    |

## 🛠️ Editing Daily Logs in the Web Portal

If corrections are required due to errors or omissions, backend users can use the **Edit** function in the web view.

🔧 Editable Fields Include:

* Log Posted On
* Time Started
* Time Finished
* Total Time
* Total Distance
* Additional Distance
* Total Expense

From here, logs can also be **exported for payroll processing**.
