### **How do I build and customize forms in the Dusk FSM web console?**

Forms in Dusk FSM are essential tools for collecting, organizing, and analyzing structured field and back-office data. They support both mobile users in the field and web-based staff. These forms are fully configurable, either built from scratch or quickly generated using integrated **ChatGPT-powered commands**.

### 🧩 How to Create a Form in Dusk FSM

To begin:

1. Go to **Form Builder** in the left-hand menu.
2. Click **+Form** to open the form creation window.

On the **Add New Form** screen:

* **Name your form**
* Choose to start from a **blank form** or use a **template**
* Then choose one of these 3 powerful options to build your form:

**Option 1:** 💬 **Type a ChatGPT command**
Use natural language to generate your form automatically.
*Example:* `Create a field form to inspect a solar site in California`

**Option 2:** 📄 **Upload an existing PDF**
Drag and drop a PDF of your current form, we’ll convert it into a Dusk FSM version using our smart parser.

**Option 3:** 🖱️ **Drag-and-drop fields manually**
Choose from a wide range of field types on the left panel and drop them into the **“Drop fields here”** zone in the center canvas.

### 🛠️ Field Configuration Options

Once a field is dropped, configure it using:

* **Name** – Label for the field
* **Placeholder** – Instructional text to guide users
* **Default Value** – Pre-filled value if none is entered
* **Required (Checkbox)** – Prevents submission until completed
* **Hide Field (Checkbox)** – Hides field from the end user
* **Hide Name (Checkbox)** – Displays only the input box, not the label
* **Conditional Logic** – Show or hide fields based on values in other fields (e.g., *If Yes, show ‘Customer Feedback’*)

📌 **Tip:** Apply conditional logic to the field that needs to be revealed — not the condition field.

### ⚙️ Administrative Functions

Click the **Settings** ⚙️ cog icon on the left to access options:

* **Add to menu** – Enables web console access for both entering and reviewing data.
* **Select Columns/Fields** – Choose what displays on the summary view.
* **Show on mobile app** – Makes the form available for field workers in the app.
* **Enable tips and tricks** – Adds help content for mobile and web users.

Once all settings are in place, hit **Save** at the bottom right.

### 🧾 How do I hide a form field from the PDF output in Dusk FSM?  
To prevent a specific form field from appearing on the generated PDF:

1. Open your form via **Operations → Forms → Form Builder**.  
2. Click the **✏️ Edit** icon next to the form name.  
3. Select the field you want to hide.  
4. In the **Field Options** panel on the left, check **Hide on PDF Output**.  
5. Click **Save** to apply the change.

💡 **Tip:** Hidden fields still store data in Dusk FSM — they’re just excluded from the printed or exported PDF.
