## Automatically Create Field Work from HubSpot Deals in Dusk FSM

Use HubSpot Deal stage movements to automatically generate Work in Dusk FSM. When a Deal reaches a stage such as **Closed Won**, Dusk FSM creates unassigned Work that is ready for scheduling and dispatch.

### How It Works

* **Trigger:** A Deal moves to a designated stage (for example, Closed Won)
* **Dusk FSM Action:** Unassigned Work is automatically created
* **Work Type:** Determined by the HubSpot Work Type property (Single Task or Multi Task)
* **Completion Sync:** Once Work is completed in Dusk FSM, the Deal stage can be automatically updated in HubSpot (for example, Ready to Invoice)

## Setting Up the Work Type Field in Deals

1. In HubSpot, open any Deal and click **View all properties**
2. Click **Create a new property**
3. Name the property **Work Type**
4. Add it to the default Deal view
5. Set the field type to **Dropdown Select**
6. Save the property

### Accepted Values

* `Single Task` → One-step Work
* `Multi Task` → Multi-step Project

## Configure Your Pipeline Stages

1. In Dusk FSM, open **System Settings → HubSpot Settings**
2. Under the **Deals** section configure:

* The Deal stage that creates Work (for example, Closed Won)
   * The Deal stage that reflects completion (for example, Ready to Invoice)
3. Save your configuration

## 📍 Create Work Using a Deal Address Instead of the Contact Address

By default, Dusk FSM creates Work using the address stored against the HubSpot Contact.

However, many organizations operate across multiple sites for the same Contact. For example:

* John Smith may be the Contact
* Site A may be a solar installation
* Site B may be a battery installation
* Site C may be an EV charger installation

In these scenarios, using the Contact address for every Deal is not appropriate.

Dusk FSM supports using a Deal-specific address when creating Work.

### Example

| ---------- | ----------------------- | -------------------- |
| John Smith | Solar Installation      | 10 Smith Street      |
| John Smith | Battery Upgrade         | 25 Factory Road      |
| John Smith | EV Charger Installation | 100 Warehouse Avenue |

Each Deal can create Work at a different location.

## Step 1: Create a Custom Deal Property in HubSpot

Create a custom Deal property to store the installation or service address.

Suggested configuration:

* Property Name: **Site Address**
* Object Type: **Deal**
* Field Type: **Single-line text**

Create a new custom Deal property. In this example the property is called **Site Address**, however you can use any property name that suits your business.

Enter the property details and save the new property.

Set the field type to **Single-line text**.

## Step 2: Create an Address Source Property

Create another custom Deal property to determine where Dusk FSM should obtain the Work address.

Suggested configuration:

* Property Name: **Dusk FSM Address Source**
* Object Type: **Deal**
* Field Type: **Dropdown Select**

Values:

* Contact Address
* Deal Address

⚠️ The dropdown values must match exactly as shown above.

Create a new custom property using the **Dropdown Select** field type.

Configure the dropdown options as:

* Contact Address
* Deal Address

## Step 3: Configure Dusk FSM

Open:

**System Settings → HubSpot Settings**

Under the **Deals** section:

* Select the HubSpot Deal property that contains the address
* Example: **Site Address**

⚠️ If you used a different property name in HubSpot, select that property instead.

## Step 4: Populate the Deal

Within HubSpot:

⚠️ Important

For organizations using the **Dusk FSM CRM App Card**, the **Address Source** and associated **Deal Address** drop down field must be populated before Work is created from the App Card.

The CRM App Card can update and manage existing Work records in Dusk FSM, however Deal-specific address selection is configured independently and must be set up in advance.

For organizations not using the Dusk FSM CRM App Card, the same configuration applies when creating **Unassigned Work** automatically from HubSpot Deal stage changes.

If the Address Source field is not configured, or a Deal Address has not been provided, Dusk FSM will automatically fall back to the Contact Address to ensure Work can still be created successfully.

* Enter the installation or service address into the Site Address field
* Select **Deal Address** from the Dusk FSM Address Source dropdown

## Address Selection Logic

Dusk FSM uses the following logic when creating Work:

| Address Source  | Result                                  |
| --------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| Contact Address | Uses the Contact Address                |
| Deal Address    | Uses the selected Deal Address property |

To prevent failed Work creation:

* If Deal Address is selected but the address field is empty, Dusk FSM falls back to the Contact Address
* If no Deal Address property is configured in Dusk FSM, the Contact Address is used
* If the Contact Address exists but the Deal Address does not, Work will still be created successfully

## How to Trigger Work Creation from HubSpot

There are two ways to initiate Work creation from a Deal:

* Drag and drop the Deal card between stages in your pipeline
* Edit the Deal Stage directly from the Deal record

Once moved, Work will be pushed into Dusk FSM and appear as **Unassigned Work**.

* A sales representative closes a solar installation Deal
* The Deal is moved to **Closed Won**
* Dusk FSM creates a Multi Task Project
* The Work uses the Deal's Site Address
* Field staff are dispatched
* Completion updates the Deal stage in HubSpot to **Ready to Invoice**

## FAQ's

**Can I view and manage multi-day or multi-tech projects from HubSpot?**

Yes. Create a custom HubSpot property called **Work Type** with the values **Single Task** and **Multi Task**. Multi Task projects are automatically created as Multi Task Work in Dusk FSM.

**Can I create Work at a different address than the Contact address?**

Yes. Dusk FSM supports Deal-specific addresses. Create a Site Address property on the Deal, configure it in Dusk FSM, and select **Deal Address** as the address source. This is ideal for organizations managing multiple customer locations.

**What happens if the Deal Address field is blank?**

If Deal Address is selected but no address has been entered, Dusk FSM automatically falls back to the Contact Address. This prevents Work creation failures and ensures dispatchers can continue scheduling Work.
