The **Work Planner Utilization View** in Dusk FSM offers a powerful visual dashboard to track and optimize workforce allocation across months and years. It helps teams balance capacity against demand, ensuring resources are fully utilized without exceeding limits.

This view is the **first tab** within the Work Planner module and is the result of configuration in the **Settings** and **Data** tabs—Steps 5 and 6 in the Work Planner setup process.

**📅 Fiscal Year Setup**
Define your fiscal year via:
**Admin → System Settings → General → Fiscal Year**
The view supports up to five fiscal years for forward-looking planning.

**🔍 Filters**
Quick filters help you locate critical information, such as workload by suburb, allowing fast access to localized or project-specific insights.

**📊 Utilization Matrix**
The main grid shows color-coded cells by month, representing workforce utilization levels based on **planned hours per day**. This visual matrix flags overutilization (red), underutilization (white), and optimal load (blue/green), giving you a real-time view of capacity issues.

**💰 Monthly Costs**
These are cumulative totals sourced from your imported budget data. Monthly cost insights assist in project-level financial forecasting and decision-making.

**⏱ Hours Required vs. Hours Available**

* **Hours Required**: Total workload calculated from task or job imports
* **Hours Available**: Based on staff rosters, shift settings, and availability
  The system uses these inputs to compute utilization metrics and flag imbalances.

### 📥 Assigning Work and Scheduling

Below the matrix is the **Work Assignment area**, used to align project timelines and staff capacity. You can resize this section using the grey bar in the center.

Functions include:

* Editing **dates and durations** for work line items
* Viewing or updating **assigned skills**
* Clicking the **“+” button** to convert a planning item into a real task, automatically deducting budgeted hours from available totals
