## 📅 How to Use the Work Calendar View in Dusk FSM

### 📌 Overview

The **Work Calendar View** in Dusk FSM is the primary tool for scheduling, dispatching, and managing **Work** across staff and contractors. It provides a time-based view of assigned and unassigned Work, helping dispatchers and operations teams balance workload, availability, and priorities.

The Calendar supports **Month**, **Week**, and **Day** views and is used during active planning and execution of Work.

### 👥 What You’ll See on the Calendar Screen

#### 1. **Staff List**

Located on the left, the staff list displays all **staff and contractors**, including:

- Role or title  
- Shift information  
- Profile photo (if available)  
- A summary of assigned Work for the selected date

#### 2. **Unassigned Staff Checkbox**

This toggle controls how availability and assignments are displayed:

- When enabled, it shows:
  - Available skills per day
  - Two-letter skill acronyms (hover to see the full skill name)
  - A counter showing how many staff are available per skill
- When disabled, it shows:
  - Assigned Work
  - Total scheduled minutes per staff member
  - **+Assignment** links indicating workload for the day

#### 3. **Unassigned Work Toggle**

The **Unassigned Work** checkbox controls whether unassigned Work is visible on the Calendar.

- When enabled:
  - Unassigned Work is displayed alongside all other Work statuses
  - Dispatchers can click on Unassigned Work directly on the Calendar to Schedule
- When disabled:
  - Unassigned Work is hidden from the Calendar view
  - All other Work statuses remain visible

This toggle is useful when you want to:
- focus only on scheduled Work
- reduce visual clutter during high-volume planning
- review staff workload without distraction

Hiding Unassigned Work does not change or delete it, it only affects visibility on the Calendar.

#### 4. **Calendar Display**

Use the controls in the top-right corner to switch between:

- **Month** (default)
- **Week**
- **Day**

Work items appear as coloured blocks showing **time, reference, and location**. Urgent Work is marked with a **white triangle**.

### 🛠️ Navigation Tools

The top bar provides controls for visibility and filtering:

1. **Staff Review Icon** – Enable, disable, or search staff  
2. **Crew Review Icon** – Enable, disable, or search crews  
3. **Directional Arrows** – Navigate forward or backward in time  
4. **Current Date Label** – Displays the active date or range  
5. **Filters Menu** – Filter Work by:
   - Staff
   - Customer
   - Suburb
   - Priority
   - Status
   - Type
   - Health

Active filters are indicated by a **green dot** and can be cleared individually or all at once.

### 🔄 Scheduling and Reassigning Work

Work can be **Scheduled** or **Scheduled and Dispatched** by dragging items from the Unassigned column onto a date in the calendar or simply using the Unassigned work checkbox.

Each Work entry displays:

- Date and time  
- Reference  
- Location  
- Status colour

Clicking a Work item allows you to:

- View Work details  
- Open **Go to Work** in a new tab  
- Select **Reassign Work** to:
  - Change staff or crew
  - Adjust date or time
  - Choose **Assign** or **Assign & Dispatch**

### 🧠 Pro Tip

Use colour coding by Work Type to quickly distinguish categories of Work. For complex scheduling or dependencies, use the Calendar alongside the **Gantt View**.
